The September Issue

Ciao a tutti,

Hey guys,

everyone who’s a little into fashion knows how big of a deal the September Issue is.

So here I’ve collected some of the covers of Vogue fashion magazines in order to compare them.

-Vogue Turkey immortala Natalia Vodianova,Vogue Germant Iris Strubegger e Vogue Russia Natasha Poly.

Vogue stands for fashion, for cuture, for trend.

Let’s see how the different editors created their own Sept Issue:

-Vogue Uk goes with the amazing Freja Beha Erichsen while Vogue America stands out with glorious Kate Moss in a purple Alexander Mc Queen dress.

-Vogue Spain gets the three goddesses Eva Herzigova,Helena Christensen and Claudia Schiffer on the steel cover and Vogue Paris has the beautiful Charlotte Casiraghi photographed by Mario Testino.

-Vogue Turkey gets Natalia Vodianova;Vogue Germany goes with Iris Strubegger and Vogue Russia with Natasha Poly.

-In Asia while Vogue China sums up the stunning group of Chinese supermodels,Vogue Japan lets Karolina Kurkova shine on her own.

-The South emisphere sees Vogue Autralia showing a portrait of Katie Fogarty and Vogue Brazile sets Georgia Jagger on an orange cover.

Everyone but Vogue Italia mostly focused on a famous top model or celebrity, while Vogue Italia sets the Avant-Garde theme as main character.

I think the choice of Franca Sozzani was the best: she placed the corset as main focusing element of the cover in order to recall Ethel Granger.

Ethel Granger lived in the 50’s and turned out to be famous for having tons of piercings and for her extremely small waist.

There are a lot of critics going on right now: the corset squeezes the model waist giving its skinny size a creepy look (and setting an example that would lead to anorexia, for the most)and that seems to be an incoherence with her campaing against pro-ana websites.

What do you think about it?
